Idris Elba has marked on to star in the up and coming novel-turned-film, Ghetto Cowboy. The Luther on-screen character will create under his Green Door Pictures banner and also star as the dad of 15-year-old Cole who is compelled to live with his father in North Philadelphia. In spite of the urban areas savagery and neediness, youthful Cole finds an outlet in urban horseback riding.
“This story was built out of a deep friendship and collaboration with the riders of North Philly, and I couldn’t be more excited to honor their legacy with this film,” director Ricky Staub said. Idris added: “Ricky and Dan’s brilliant script combines the energy and grit of an urban movie with the poetry and romance of the urban cowboy way of life.”
Ghetto Cowboy ” Starring Idris Elba ” is based off the novel written by Gregory Neri published in 2011.
In other Idris acting news, the UK actor is set to join the Fast and Furious spinoff with Dwayne The Rock Johnson, to play a villain. There’s been no set release date for the spin-off, but the drama surrounding the movie has kept us all busy in the meantime. As previously posted, Tyrese has been nothing but hostile about the idea of a spinoff without him.
I don’t know about you but i surely can’t wait just to see this movie come to life. Waht a sight that would be. Idris has been that actor that never ceases to impress me no matter aht roll he plays in a movie, he always gets the job done.
